Mahnoor’s journey into marketing was anything but conventional. With a degree in Development Studies from Bahria University, she never anticipated working in digital marketing and CRM automation. However, her internships and early job experiences sparked an interest that led her to pivot into marketing.

Her first role at Ghozia Pakistan, a travel company, introduced her to social media management. However, she quickly realized that digital marketing was much more than just posting content—a realization that set the foundation for her future growth.

“I thought my job was just about content posting, but I was also handling CRM automation,” Manor recalls. “That’s where I realized there’s so much more to marketing than just social media.”

Seeking more career growth and flexibility, she applied to RepStack, where she started working remotely and expanded her skill set beyond traditional marketing.

Navigating CRM and Marketing Automation

At RepStack, Mahnoor worked with Ryan Hurst, a U.S.-based marketing agency owner focused on law firm marketing. She handled everything from content creation and LinkedIn management to campaign execution.

However, her career took a significant turn when she joined Bin Dawood, one of the largest retail superstores in Saudi Arabia. Unlike her previous role at a startup, Bin Dawood had a much larger team spread across different regions.

She now collaborates with teams in Karachi, Lahore, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, ensuring seamless communication and alignment across content, design, and data management.

Her primary tool? Braze is a powerful CRM and marketing automation platform.

“Braze is different from HubSpot and GoHighLevel support,” she explains. “It’s heavily campaign-oriented, with vast segmentation, media storage templates, and audience categorization.”

She has mastered 70% of Braze in just one year, proving her adaptability and expertise in marketing automation and customer segmentation.

Adapting to a Global Work Culture

Switching from a U.S.-based startup to a massive Saudi retail brand came with challenges. The work hours were different, but fortunately, the morning shifts suited her lifestyle better than the night shifts she had in her previous role.

Beyond the timing, the work culture was a major shift. At Ryan Hurst’s startup, she handled marketing alone, but at Bin Dawood, she worked in a structured team with designated responsibilities across different departments.

“Now, I work with three to four teams. Communication is key because we have to align content, approvals, and campaign launches across different time zones,” she says.

Despite working remotely, she stays connected through weekly meetings with the Saudi team and alternate-day check-ins with her reporting manager, Iram.

Mastering the Art of Work-Life Balance

Mahnoor’s transition to remote work came with both benefits and challenges. On one hand, it offered her the flexibility to manage her own schedule and work from the comfort of her home. On the other hand, it required a high level of discipline and self-motivation to stay productive.

At first, adapting to a remote setup was not easy. Without the structure of a traditional office environment, distractions were everywhere. It took time for her to establish a routine that worked best for her productivity and well-being.

She experimented with different work schedules, set clear boundaries, and created a dedicated workspace to maintain focus.

One of the biggest challenges of remote work was separating personal and professional life.

“When you work remotely, it’s easy to blur the lines between personal and professional life. That’s why I make sure to go out with friends or spend time with family on weekends,” she shares.

She also found that taking small breaks during the day and setting clear work hours helped her maintain a healthy balance. Over time, Mahnoor embraced the flexibility that remote work provided while ensuring she stayed disciplined and connected with her loved ones. Her experience highlights the importance of balance, routine, and self-care in making remote work successful.
