Chris Martinez’s story: How he started DUDE Agency

When Chris Martinez started his own agency, he didn’t know what kind of business it would be. But as soon as the idea for DUDE came to him in 2012 when Chris started to run Google ads to help other agencies get access to his talent pool and thus began his mission to develop his own agency.

Dude today is recognized by Chris’s famous Black Mexican mask which as he recalls was just a souvenir he had picked up on a trip with friends. When he started wearing it at a conference, he realized it characterized “brute force” which then set his agency on its own trajectory.

To achieve multiple seven figures, Chris realized it would take a lot more time and effort than he could give. However, Chris’s lightning bolt moment came when he realized he needed to analyze the process and whether the market was responding to it. By running google ads multiple times and failing, there needed to be a threshold that sustained the success.
